Come join us for a fantastic evening of fashion and fun as we feature two incredible industry artists – Kathleen Schwartz and Cheryl Kellar.
Kathleen Schwarts
Since a very young age, Kathleen’s passion has been in fashion which ultimately led to a BS Natural Sciences degree in Textiles and Clothing from University of Texas at Austin. Following graduation from college, she launched a 40-plus-year career in the fashion industry. She has worked for companies in the capacity of fashion buying, wholesale and product development. These include Foley’s Department Stores, JCPenney, Jones Apparel Group, Levi Strauss & Company, Q4 Samsung for Jessica Simpson and Epic Hong Kong.
Cheryl Kellar
Cheryl Kellar was born in St. Augustine, Florida, and raised in Houston, Texas. Since 2018, home has been Fayetteville, Arkansas. She is a watercolor artist painting themes of high fashion.
Some of Cheryl’s earliest memories are of creating clothes for her paper dolls from the pictures she found in her mother’s fashion catalogs and sewing patterns. In elementary school she began to draw beautiful women in elaborate costumes. Kellar’s firm belief that fashion is art drives her to explore ways of expressing the magic and drama of all things fashion in her work.
Cheryl Kellar salutes the creativity, individuality, and strength of women through her daily sketchbook practice and her contemporary fine art paintings. Recognized for her bold and dramatic works on paper, she continues to push boundaries through her non-traditional approach to watercolor painting.
Throughout the years Kathleen and her sister, Cheryl Kellar have honed their crafts separately and, in 2016, merged their passions with their brand Framed in Fashion, an art inspired fashion/textile clothing line. Cheryl has been sketching and painting as a water media artist who paints vibrant themes of fashion couture as well as fashion illustrations, “The Art of Style”. They print original art on a variety of textiles including cottons, knits and silks to name a few. Kathleen creates the fashion product with these textiles according to the trends, seasons, shows and personal clientele. She works with the art fabrications and mixes them with complimentary fabrics and unique color combinations.
Their motto is, “It Starts with the Art” and it is the foundation of Framed in Fashion designs of “Art you can Wear”.
